Entering the Inner Sanctuary
Enter this sanctuary time by settling down, becoming quiet, and breathing deeply a few breaths. Remind yourself you are in the Presence of Love. This place you are entering, within, is the inner Temple. Here, you are One with Spirit and all persons, and Nature. You may use a mantra, or prayer phrase, follow the breathing in-and-out, or witness the arising and falling of all around you as the manifestation of universal-Grace. Enjoy these moments of Quiet and come out when you are ready. The following video is provided, for those who would like meditative music to accompany your Quiet contemplation:

In his application of Shamanic practice to prayer, José Luis Stevens, refers to an experience early in his life:
One of my earliest memories is sitting in church between my parents at mass unable to see over the pew in front of me. I could hear the drone of Latin, the occasional bells, and the coughs, sneezes, and shuffling of the congregation. Unable to participate in a more meaningful way, I found myself contemplating my own existence and became totally intrigued by the fact that I was alive and conscious of myself. I had not created myself nor did I remember being created. I contemplated the miracle of being alive here in the present moment, and delighted in the flow of the consecutive moments of now that buoyed me along like a boat on a river of awareness. I became transfixed with the awareness of "I Am Alive!", "I am Alive!", "I Am Alive!" I felt like the luckiest person on Earth.
Stevens observes that his life journey has been about getting back to live that awareness he knew that day in the mass. In his mid-50s, he wrote: "I am finally getting back to the awareness of 'I Am Alive!', 'I Am Alive', nothing more. So simple, so true, so freeing.”

The spiritual Journey is a return to original Innocence. Many of us begin re-emerging in that Innocence of Aliveness and Mystery at mid-life. We have earlier, brief visitations to that Paradise of Awareness, but engage a spiritual Path to re-actualize that Grace - to live more fully in that Grace.
